TANVI MEHTA
"Alaya Artistry" needed a digital experience that reflected the same level of curation and craftsmanship as its physical collections. The objective was to create a platform that not only showcased artworks but also communicated the stories, materials, and artists behind them.
Problem Statement
"I conducted competitor research across art galleries, museums, and luxury brands to uncover opportunities for a more engaging and curated digital experience."
I analysed competitors across the art and luxury space, focusing on:
-
Information architecture and navigation
-
Collection browsing patterns
-
Artist storytelling
-
Visual hierarchy
-
Editorial layouts
-
Use of imagery, typography, and whitespace
-
Artwork was prioritised over the artist.
-
Browsing felt transactional.
-
Storytelling was disconnected.
-
Minimalism worked best.
-
Most of them were e-commerce websites.

The challenge was to design an immersive experience that celebrated both the artwork and the artists while reflecting Alaya's curated identity.
The website recreates the feeling of walking through a gallery by blending artist stories, museum-inspired displays, and thoughtful interactions into an immersive digital experience.
